He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Kelley and Suzie Mildred Johnson Baird; his brother Marlyn Baird; and his wives, Ruth Ophergelt Baird and Phyllis Heilman Baird.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Baird (Vicki) of Shelbyville, John Robert Weldon Baird, Jr. of Bloomington, Diane Perry (Rodney) of Pleasureville, Martin Shelburne (Bonita) of Waterford, Angie Abshire (Shawn) of Shelbyville, Lee Heilman of Taylorsville and Robbie Travis (Scott) of Cox's Creek. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
