He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Shelburne, Sr. and Pauline Snyder Shelburne; his wife Doris Ann Yates Shelburne; and his siblings, Ivan Shelburne, Jr., Vivian Lutz, Irene Kelien and Martha Ann McKinley.

He is survived by: his children, Timothy Owen Shelburne, Sr. (Anne) of Taylorsville, Robert Metts Shelburne (Lynn) of Taylorsville, Robyn Ann Baxter (Chuck) of Taylorsville and Polly Shelburne of Taylorsville; his brothers, R. C. Shelburne, Howard Cadle Shelburne and Guy Shelburne; his grandchildren, Timothy Owen Shelburne, Jr. (Natalya), Howard Whitt Shelburne (Erin), Kathryn Baxter (Clayton Salchli), Emma Baxter, Owen Baxter, Leah Shelburne and Duncan Manganaro; and his great grandchild Claire Shelburne.
