He is survived by: his wife Melanie Lewis Shumate; his children, Cameron and Kenley; his parents, James Shumate and Sandra Shumate; his godparents, Bill and Debbie Shumate; his brother Nick Shumate (Renee); his parents-in-law, Ken and Deb Lewis; and his brother-in-law Tony Lewis (Laura). He is also survived by several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
