He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine West Adkins and Ben Howard Adkins; and his brother Jerry Howard Adkins. He is survived by: his close friend Lena Searcy of Taylorsville; his brothers, Benny Joseph Adkins (Sherry) of Vine Grove and George Michael Adkins (Anita) of Custer; his close friends, Matthew Hunt and Aubrey Brock; and also, Crystal and Paige Reed. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
