He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Robert and Loretta Margaret Maurer Stevenson; and his siblings, L. R. Stevenson, Jr., Joe Stevenson, Kenny Stevenson, Delores Walker and Jean Axman.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hogan Stevenson of Taylorsville; his children, Patrick Joseph Stevenson (Cindy) of Taylorsville, Kenneth Joseph Stevenson of Taylorsville and Angela Marie Ross (Thomas) of Louisville; his sister-in-law Patricia Stevenson of Louisville; and his grandsons, Jake Ross and Isaac Ross.
