He is survived by: his father Edgar Ray Thompson of Elk Creek; his daughter Andrea Thompson Mudd of Elk Creek; his sisters, Connie Thompson Yates of Elk Creek and Selina Thompson Goode (Joe) of Elk Creek; his grandchildren, Katalin Williams of Briar Ridge and Andrew Scott Goodlett of Elk Creek; his nephew Richard L. Yates, Jr. of Elk Creek; his niece Jessica Goode Nelson (Dan) of Niota, Tennessee; and his great-nephews, Xander, Noah and Elijah Arden of Niota, Tennessee..
A generous soul, he was a loyal supporter of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Heart Association, Kentucky Educational Television, Disabled American Veterans, and he was a Kentucky Organ Donor in spirit.
