He was predeceased by: his parents, Vurgial Kirby and Mary Elizabeth Lay Smith; and his siblings, Hallie Burgin, Vurgial Smith and Mary Laswell.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Lynch Smith; his sons, Kirby Dale Smith (Andrea) of Campbellsville and Jason Alan Smith (Kay) of Taylorsville; his brother Ronald S. Smith (Renee) of Troy; his grandchildren, Tyler Stevens (Raegan) of Greensburg, KY., Kameron Smith of Campbellsville, Hallie Smith (Harrison Bratton) of Baltimore, Kaylyn Smith of Campbellsville, Brady Smith of Taylorsville, Karsyn Smith of Campbellsville and Kynnedy Murphy of Taylorsville; and his great grandchildren, McKinley and Rylan Stevens.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home (101 Reasor Ave, Taylorsville, KY 40071). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Elk Creek Baptist Church or The Gideons International.
