He is survived by: his wife Verniece Riley Shirley; his son Tony Wayne Shirley (Debi) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Kate Akers (David), Emily Shirley and Mason Shirley; and his great grandchildren, Elle Christine Akers and Helena Shirley Akers.
