It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Gean Groce Smith Capps of Summer Shade, Kentucky, born in Peytonsburg, Kentucky, who passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Groce and Noxie Groce (Perkins); her husbands, Rondell Smith and James Capps; and her siblings, Ewing Groce and Betty Norris.
She is survived by: her brother Preston Groce (Judy); her stepsons, Stevie Capps (Glenda) and Phillip Capps (Rachel); her nieces, Connie Jo Humes (Kenny) and Sharon Norris (Chuck); her great-niece Casey Brown (Brian); and also Hadley Humes. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions mask must be worn, temperature taken and social distancing encouraged.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
