It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nell Van Zant of Summer Shade, Kentucky, who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Nova Witty Cawthorn and Jesse Herbert Cawthorn; her husband Ernest Maxie Van Zant; her son Douglas Maxie Van Zant; her grandsons, Jeremy Van Zant and Daniel Van Zant; and her sisters, Lavon Hunt, Lucille Johnston and Christine Witten.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Muse of Glasgow, Janet K. Van Zant (Welsh) and Susan Smith (Thomas) of Summer Shade; and her grandchildren, Emily McCallister (Jamey), Wendy Gaffin (Thomas), Erin Miller (Brett), Nicki Anderson (Dustin), Jonathon Kingrey (Crystal) and Jordon Kingrey (Shellynna). She is also survived by seventeen great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
