It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe W. Thompson (Summer Shade, Kentucky), born in Glasgow, Kentucky, who passed away on March 22, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Thompson and Ruth DeVore Thompson; and his former wife Betty Gentry Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Akers Thompson; his children, Todd Thompson of Edmonton, Joe Akers (Jamie) of Louisville and Sarah Drury (Ken Joines) of Glasgow; and his grandchildren, Blake Thompson, Kassidi Akers, Molly Akers, Salyssa Shoopman, Connor Spears and Peanut Drury (Jaccy).

Face masks are required, social distancing practiced, no food or drinks allowed.
