He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles McMurtrey and Arlene Morgan McMurtrey; his wife Sharon Harper McMurtrey; his children, Russ McMurtrey (Erika) of Nashville, TN, Ty McMurtrey (Emma Wilson), Summer Shade and Emily McMurtrey of Nashville, TN; his grandsons, Owen and Easton McMurtrey; his siblings, Tom McMurtrey (Freda), Summer Shade, David McMurtrey (Phyllis), Jan Page (David), Laurie Butler (Jimmy) and Shana McMurtrey; and his mother-in-law Joyce Ann Harper. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
