It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Burtis Stephens of Strunk, Kentucky, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Melvin Stephens and Dorothy Opal Stephens (Perry); his wife Bonnie Stephens (Spradlin); his grandson Justin Charles Musgrove; his son-in-law Cye Riley Murphy; and his siblings, Edward, Kenneth, Orvil Lee Stephens, Debra Ruth and Phyllis Ann.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Stephens Murphy; his grandchildren, Brandon Michael Musgrove, Mary Ann Murphy and Julian Spradlin; his great grandchildren, Gabriel Johnson, Debra Sizemore, Bethany Sizemore, Raylen Ridner, Michael Musgrove, Braden Musgrove, Benjamin Musgrove, Patiance Spradlin and Shaylee Maynard; his siblings, Roscoe Stephens (Drenda), Tim Stephens (Carolyn), Phillip Stephens (Terri), Tommy Stephens (Gerti), Wanda Lucas, Paul and Judy Baird Campbell (Bill); and his nephew Derrick Stephens.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pine Knot Funeral Home (140 Cal Hill Spur, Pine Knot, KY 42635). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
