He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Slavey and Mary Basil Garland Slavey; and his siblings, William, Ivan Slavey and Shirley Johnson.
He is survived by: his son John; his granddaughter Penny; his brothers, Wayne (Barbara Slavey) and Burl (Betty Slavey); and his stepgrandchildren, Austin, William and Tristian Slavey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
