He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock Adkins and Nora Elizabeth Adkins; and his wife Lou Adkins. He is survived by: his daughter April Gail Adkins; his siblings, Ancie, John, Denton Adkins, Stella Mounts, Omiea Hamilton, Jettie Hamilton, Ella Hurley, Edith Daugherty and Nella Adkins; and his children, Luther Jr. Adkins (Patricia), William Adkins (Teresa), Joseph Adkins (Mindy), Mae Hurley (Ricky), June Mounts (Tennis), Geraldine Horn (James), Ruby Jane Prater (Carl) and Susie Blankenship.
