She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene Tharpe of Stanton; her parents, Jessie Mountz McKinney and Eunice Wells McKinney; her daughter MaDonna Rose Tharpe Bowen; and her siblings, David Anderson McKinney, Ferrell Ray McKinney, Kendall McKinney, Mildred Estes, Thelma Bishop, Jeannette Charles, Wilma Bishop, Irene Olinger and Beulah Ann McKinney.
She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Smith (Bill); her grandson Steven L Bowen, II (Stephanie); her great grandchild Kedir Bowen; and her sisters, Eldoria "Dody" Johnson, Kathlene Rogers (Jearl), Janet Flippo and Berniece Wills.
