He was predeceased by: his parents, James Reed and Edna Reed; and his siblings, Bob Townsend, George Townsend and Thelma Hiers.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Reed of Stanton; his sons, Brad Reed (Kim) of Mt. Sterling, Jason Reed (Missy) of Mt. Sterling and Barry Reed (Amy) of Salt Lick; and his siblings, Jay Townsend of Georgia, Buck Morton of Irvine, Rosemary Page of Winchester, Helena White of Indiana and Fay Jones of Indiana. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
