He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Manning and Lucille Preston Manning; his brothers, James and Richard Manning; his son-in-law Dennis Downs; and his brother-in-law Gordon Poling.
He is survived by: his children, Chad Manning (Dixie) of Casey County, Chana Esparza of Danville and Jennifer Downs of Lancaster; his sisters, Barbara Manning of Springfield, IL, Patricia Poling of San Antonio, TX and Margaret Peebles of Danville; his sister-in-law Barbara Manning of Junction City; his grandchildren, Katie Franklin, Robyn Franklin, Robert Franklin II, Anastasia Blanton, Hannah Downs and Christopher Manning; and the mother of his children Barbara Sue Whitfield of Casey County. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home (331 S 4th St, Danville, KY 40422). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
