She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Eugene and Lola Wells Gerkey; her husband John Chalmers Cave; and her siblings, Donald Gerkey, Ovid Curtis Gerkey, Glenn Odell Gerkey, Carroll Eugene Gerkey, Alma Wheeler, Thelma Harper, Louise Rinehart and Hazel Spiers.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth John Christopher Cave and Clara Anne Gower of Lexington, Kentucky; and her sister Wilma Thornberry of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
