He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arnold Austin and Hazel Sims Privett; his son Jason Keith Austin; his stepfather Tommy Privett; his sister Kay Nona Austin Hale; and his nieces and nephews, Teresa Kay (Taylor West), Paulette Gilpin, Michael Paul "Batmite" Patterson, Bobby R. Means and William "Billy" Arnold Means.
He is survived by: his daughters, Keithandra Austin Lowry (Robert) of Stanford and April Lyn Ramsay of Stanford; his grandson William Denver Crossfield of Stanford; his niece Jaqueline Gibson Harless (Ron) of Butchertown, Kentucky; his nephews, John Gibson (Tonia) of Morehead and Charles Hale of Stanford; and his K-9 companion Weasel. He is also survived by several other extended family members and friends.
