She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Gruenigen and Clara Ella Von Gruenigen (Camenisch); and her husband Mayo Yates Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Margaret Smith of Stanford and Elisabeth Ellen Smith (Sarah M. Lowe) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Jacob Eric Nustad-Peluso (Angelina) of Duluth, Rachel Elisabeth Nustad (Branden Nation) of Minneapolis and Simon Mayo Lowe of Bloomington, Indiana; and her great grandchildren, River Nustad-Peluso, Remi Nation and Theia Nation.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Stanford Presbyterian Church (213 E Main St, Stanford, KY 40484).
