He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Milton Deatherage and Leala Adams Deatherage; and his siblings, Margaret Louise Kidd, Alma Mae Deatherage, Jim Deatherage, Clarence "Bug" Deatherage, Lester Deatherage, Foster "Doc" Deatherage and Eugene "Billy" Deatherage.

He is survived by: his son Troy Deatherage (Christie) of Clarkston, MI; his grandsons, Trevor Deatherage, Joshua Deatherage and Brandon Deatherage; and his sister Patty Cromer of Brodhead, Kentucky. He is also survived by several brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 regulations and restrictions, a private family service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY.
