He was predeceased by: his parents, James Everett Jones and Ethel Marie Padgett; his son Guy Michael Jones, Jr.; and his brothers, Charles David Jones and Walter Roy Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Tonya Jones of Stanford; his children, Kirk Henry Jones of Stanford and Jenny Jones Gervasi (Ian) of Columbia, MD; his grandchildren, Luca Gervasi and Lorenzo Gervasi; and his siblings, Douglas E. Jones, Gregory Jones, Brenda Barnett (Herman Lewis), Linda Floyd (Gary) and Lori Herring.
