He is survived by: his wife Christine Ross Reid; his daughters, Judy Higgins (George) of Versailles and Wanda Reid of Lexington; his grandson George Higgins III (Kathy) of Louisville; his great grandchildren, Isabella Higgins and Ian Vanover of Louisville; his nephew Douglas Reid (Mary) of Stanford; his niece Sharon Reid of Stanford; and his sister-in-law Mary Reid of Stanford. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
