She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Murphy and Julia Woodrum Murphy; her daughter Teia Taylor Kid; and her son-in-law Chuck Berry. She is survived by: her husband Joe Kernen; her daughters, Citita Potts (Donald) of Danville, KY and Tanisha Taylor of Danville, KY; and her stepchildren, Tom Kernen (Kim) and Scottie Kay Collier of Danville, KY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a board member and corresponding secretary for the Logan Fort Foundation, a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Society, and a Kentucky Colonel.
