He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hartness and Opal Shephard Hartness; and his brothers, Dennis Hartness and David Hartness. He is survived by: his children, Billy Hartness of Hamilton, Eric Hartness of McKinney, Kentucky, Tara Hartness Barger and Patty Hartness; and his siblings, Earl Hartness of Brown County, Lee Hartness of Hamilton, Eugene Hartness of Stanford, Ronald Hartness of Hamilton, Ricky Lloyd Hartness of Cincinnati, Lena Elmore of Liberty and Shirley Bedwell of Harlan, Kentucky. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
