He was predeceased by: his parents, Challie Pelphrey and Malta Jewell Rice Pelphrey; and his siblings, Agnes VanHoose and Kelse Edward "Bud" Pelphrey. He is survived by: his children, Robert Royce Pelphrey (Abby) of Lexington, Kentucky, Teddy Warner (Michael) of Lexington, Kentucky and Shannon Pelphrey of Lexington, Kentucky; and his siblings, Jack Pelphrey (Jennie) of Staffordsville, Kentucky, Ruby Blanton of Van Lear, Kentucky, Betty McKenzie of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Mabel Hazlette of Hager Hill, Kentucky.
