He was predeceased by: his father James Viva; his wife Joy Gross Story; his siblings, Ray Higgins, Clifton Higgins and Esta Mae Wallace; his nephews, Kenneth Ray Higgins and Jimmy Burden; his niece Tammy Roberts; his great-nephew Dillion Roberts; his stepchildren, Doug Story and Jo Ann Story Ebert; and his stepgrandson Kris Willhite.
He is survived by: his sisters, Faye Biddle of Lexington, KY and Shirley Chipman of Warsaw; his cousins, Nancy Anderson Perkins (Ronnie) of Warsaw and Margaret Anderson Ruth of Glencoe; his stepdaughter Connie Story (Larry Pierce) of Louisville; and his pet Scout.
