He was predeceased by: his parents, Powell Barlow Arkers Jr. (Boss) and Mavis Kathleen Smith Akers (Kat); his brother Eddie Akers; and his grandson Larry Zane Akers. He is survived by: his wife Alice Jenkins Akers; his children, Ryan Akers (Sue) of Sonora, Jay Akers (Paulette) of Versailles and Alicia Reeves (Terry) of Sonora; his adoptive son J. J.; his grandchildren, Jamie Akers (Maggie), Mallory Hodges (James), Haley Reeves, Connor Akers and Dawson Akers; and his great grandchildren, Paxton and Kason Akers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
