With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Mae Godbey Shadoan (Somerset, Kentucky), who passed away on April 24, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joshua Godbey and Pauline Randolph Godbey; her grandparents, Isaiah Clifton, Ella Catherine Irvine Godbey, Cyrus B. and Betty Warren Randolph; her parents-in-law, Joe and Irene Hall Shadoan; her children, Timothy Allen and Katherine Ann "Pebbles"; her brother Lester "Peanut" Godbey; and her siblings-in-law, Janet Godbey, Ronnie and Mike Shadoan.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Lee Shadoan of Somerset and James Douglas Shadoan (Sandy Cooper) of Beech Grove; her sisters, Helen Katherine of Ohio, Patricia Ann Clark of Argyle, Betty Rose Kidd (Junior) of Science Hill, Evelyn Cox (Randell) of Somerset and Charlotte Duvall (Bob) of Beech Grove; her sister-in-law Marlene Sworden; her close friend Sharon Sanders; her pet Foxy; her grandchildren, Toni Shadoan, Samantha Godsey (Cory), Sydney Shadoan, Tiffany Wright (Jeremiah), Jessica Shadoan and Mark Shadoan; her stepgrandsons, Brian McGowan and Anthony Davis; and her great grandchildren, Conner Wright, Matthew Shadoan, Jazlynn Shadoan, Owen Godsey and Kyson Stigall. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home (2110 KY-914, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
