He is survived by: his wife Joyce Poynter; his children, Jeffery Poynter (Lori) of Somerset and Cindy Poynter Wallace (Gary) of Science Hill; his siblings, Stephen Poynter of Somerset, Precilla Stogsdill (Cecil) of Science Hill, Betty Walker (Gary) of Roachdale, IN, Sarah Lark of Danville, IN and Sue Farmer of Science Hill; his granddaughter Sadie Brooklynn Wallace; and his brother-in-law Bill Simpson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home (2110 KY-914, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
