As Joan Ruth departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Joan Ruth. Though Joan Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Vonies Franklin Baker and Bertie Eva Mounce Baker; and her husband Cecil "Pete" Brinson. She is survived by: her sons, Stephen Michael Brinson of Lexington and Randall Scott Brinson of Somerset; and her grandchildren, Timothy Cooper Brinson (Suamj Restifo) and Raylan Cole Brinson. She is also survived by numerous other step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Rock Lick Baptist Church (2430 Grundy Rd, Somerset, KY 42501).
