We are sad to announce that on January 10, 2025, at the age of 64, Janie Burton (Somerset, Kentucky) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Sweet and Margaret Eldridge Sweet; her husband Lemuel Hayes "Butch" Burton III; her brother Audie Sweet; and her brother-in-law Thomas Edward Garner.
She is survived by: her significant other George Emerson of Eli; her sons, Lemuel Hayes Burton IV (Kendra Johnson) of Somerset and Dylan James Burton (Lynelle Wood) of Nancy; her grandchildren, Lemuel Hayes Burton V, Jaiden Johnson, Olivia Brown, Julian Wood and Landin Wood; her siblings, Danny Lee Sweet, Brenda Garner of Somerset and Wanda McGowan of Somerset; and her sister-in-law Jackie Sweet. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt and uncle.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503).
