It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Smith of Somerset, Kentucky, who passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Arnold and Wilma Smith Arnold; her husband Ruel Smith; her son-in-law Doug Meadors; her brother Eddie Arnold; and her stepson Dewey Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Merritt of London, Dustin Smith of Hanover, PA, Debra Arnold of London and E. J. Taylor of Somerset; her siblings, Larry Arnold (Freda) of Laurel County, Jerry Arnold (Angie) of Laurel County, Terry Arnold (Stephanie) of Owensboro, Carolyn Karr of Somerset and Denise Hodnett (David); her sister-in-law Dorothy Arnold; her grandchildren, Dylan Meadors (Angelina), Brooke Emerson, Logan Willhoite and DJ Smith; and her great grandchild Oliver Hester. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Poynter's Chapel Christian Church (1046 London Dock Rd, London, KY 40744). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
