We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2025, at the age of 93, Billie Wrae Buchanan of Somerset, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cassie Hammond (Burton) and Herbert Hammond; her siblings, Harold of Lexington Kentucky, Bettie Lykins (Glen) of West Liberty, Jean Owney (Herman) of Ashland Kentucky and Maureen Elam (James) of West Liberty; her husband James B. "Buck" Buchanan; her children, Richard Buchanan (Teri) of Glasgow and Mary Moore (Sam) of Columbus, Ohio.; her grandchildren, Allison Chester (Sean) of Brunswick, Will Moore of Delaware and Thomas Moore of Brooklyn, NY; and her great grandchild Austin English of Georgia.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Betty Buchanan of Lexington, Kentucky..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the First Christian Church (1115 KY-39, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to God's Food Pantry or Boy Scout Troop #79 at the First Christian Church.
