She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Ann Cox (Thomas) and Robert Cox; her former husband Roger Carter; and her brother Robert Cox (Bob Tom). She is survived by: her husband Dave Herron; her sister Faye Crowe; her son John Tinsley Carter II (Gette); her grandchildren, Tinsley Carter Harbour (G. L.), John Tinsley Carter III (Erin) and Eric Overly (Heather); her great grandchildren, Eden Jewel, Ellison Carter, Elliot Carter and Christian Overly; her stepchildren, Leslie Nichols, Kathleen Herndon and Kelly Herron; her stepgrandchildren, Ashley Herron, Alex Nichols, Carter Rossetter, Julianna Rossetter and Jessica Carter; and her stepgreat-grandchild Ezra Herron Motolik.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or to First Baptist Church of Somerset.
