It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ray R. Hurst of Smiths Grove, Kentucky, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Hurst and Dulcie Cox Hurst Harris; his children, Donald Ray Hurst, Thomas Wayne Hurst and Phyllis Hurst; his granddaughters, Jo Ann Alfieri, Tina Parker, Donna and Tiffany Lance; and his siblings, Colonel LaPaz Hurst, Kermit Hurst, Blaine Hurst and Ann Krienbell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Raye Lynn Galbreath (Gene) of Uhrichsville, Ohio and Ida Hurst of Uhrichsville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Matthew Hurst, Rhonda Reeves, Jason Brill, Branden Richardson, Jordi Burkey and Dawn Hurst; his close friend Shirley Stephens; and his stepdaughters, Vickie, Connie and April. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; along with several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In keeping with the Governor's recommendations for safety during funeral and memorial services, the number of attendees in the funeral home at any given time will be limited; no food permitted in the lounge; social distancing will be necessary; and face coverings are required.
