He was predeceased by: his father Harry O. Jones Sr.; his brother Howard Maxwell Jones of Coco; his daughter Sondra Althea Jones; his mother Lena Lorene Scarbrough Jones Sr.; his siblings, Earlene Jones Hart, Barbara Jones Mix and Harry O; his sister-in-law Patsy Jones Jr.; his parents-in-law, Herschel and Lida Robertson Potter; and his sister-in-law Lucille Champion.

He is survived by: his wife Theah L Potter Jones; his children, Doug Jones (Debbie) of Calvert City, KY and Amelia Ramage (Buddy); his sister Linda Ladd (Freddy) of Burna; his grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Kim Jernigan (Ben), Chase Ramage and Colton Ramage (Hannah); and his great grandchild Scarlett Jernigan of Benton, KY..
