He was predeceased by: his parent Horace Sr; and his siblings, Mary Lou Byrd, Horace Jr, Cornelius, Sylvester and David.

He is survived by: his parent Louise Patton; his wife Alice Patton; his children, Walter Jr, Kissimmee, Cornelius Patton (Marla) and Violetta; his sister Dorothy Smith; and also Doty. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
