He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter T. Olson Jr. and Thelma Reichart Olson of Chattanooga, TN.; his siblings-in-law, Powell Davis Rakestraw Sr. and Mary Frank Tompkins Rakestraw of Slaughters, KY; and his siblings, Susan Davenport and Lynn Olson of Chattanooga, TN..
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Rakestraw Olson of Slaughters, KY.; his children, Leslie Simon (Gary) of Murfreesboro, TN and Chris Olson (Nancy) of Slaughters, KY; and his grandchildren, Noah Olson Simon, Gracie Lee Olson and Davis Lynn Olson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
