She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert Black and Peggy Black; her husband Michael "Mike" Edwards; and her sons, Robert Michael Edwards and Austin Theodore "Teddy" Edwards (Riley).

Because of Sonja's passion and love of children, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
