She was predeceased by: her husband Malcom Colwell; her parents, John Colwell and Elmir Colwell; and her children, Tony "Sam" Colwell, Travis Colwell and Lori Colwell.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Bowling (Jamie), Phillip Colwell (Jodi) and Lisa Duncil (Herbie); her grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Austin, Dustin, Amanda, Elizabeth, Casey and Jonathan; and her great grandchildren, Madelyn, Lawrence, Jolene, Darius, Kylie, Alexia, Adrian, Hunter and Lexi.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley had requested that a donation be made to Kosair Charities – Children's Hospital.
