She was predeceased by: her husband James Dawson; her parents, Dewey Smith and Ella Mae Smith; and her brothers, Samuel Smith and Lawrence Smith.

She is survived by: her son James Dawson, Jr. (Sheila); and her grandchildren, Thomas Dawson, Carrie Gordon (Daniel), Sarah Dawson and James Dawson (Eryn).
