With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Judith Hortense Akers of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, who passed away on January 28, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Earl Manford Akers; her parents, Rupert Melvin and Nellie Birtle Holbrook; and her siblings, Linda Wiseman, Elizabeth Holbrook, Bona Holbrook, Richard Holbrook and Clara Holbrook.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Akers (Shirley) of Frankfort, Jeffrey Akers (Dyann) of Benton, John Franklin Akers (Amy) of Simpsonville and Susan Fries (Mike) of Shepherdsville; her sister Robin Woosley (Wayne) of Worthville; her grandchildren, Seth Oaklin, John Evan, James Albert, Jason Earl Akers, Stephanie Marie Fries and Debbie Brewer; her great grandchildren, Oaklyn Ann, Elijah Paul, Asher Franklin, Chloe Michelle, Jackson Erik, Ava Malynn, James Dawson Akers, Cameron Shockley and Jerry Sullivan Brewer; and her close friend Penny Happel Akers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Maraman Billings Funeral Home (605 Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY 40165). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
