J, Bobby Bates, Roger Bates and Beulah Bates; his pet Blanca; his sons, James Dion Bates (Sheryl Kay) and Jeremy Daryl Bates (Taunja Andrea); his stepdaughter Lynn Stetson; his grandchildren, Austin Kai Bates, Kayla Marie Bates (Henry Thomas Terhune), Cameron Tyler Bates, Hannah Elizabeth Bates, Molly Katherine Bates and Emily Scharpf; his siblings, Eula Mae Kovacs, Louise Jernigan and Cletus Bates; and his wife's daughters, Cecilia and Dollie Tackett.
