He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lucas and Pearl Maulder; his wife Mickey Lucas; his sons, Eddie Lucas, Jerry Owings and Billy Ray Lucas; his grandchildren, Crystal Lucas, Chris Lucas and Kristen Lucas; and his pet Scrappy.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Lynn Quiggins (Tim), Debbie Dubin (Michael), James D. Lucas, Nicole Lucas and Kelly Pinnick (Levi); his siblings, Shirley Patrick, Margaret Perry and Doris Lavaque; and his sister-in-law Judy Combs (Larry).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in James' honor to the Bullitt County Animal Shelter in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
