He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Hale and Claudie Hale; and his sister Linnie Coffman. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hale (Wheeler); his daughters, Shiela Hale (Debbie Embry), Shirley Probst (James Sr.) and Rebecca Boyle (Michael); his grandchildren, Kayla Cheatham (Shawn), Paul Ingram (Emily) and Virgina Boyle; his great grandchildren, Jaquan and Aurora; and his sisters, Dorothy Price and Brenda Emerson.
