He was predeceased by: his wife Cherie Nichols; his sons, Gary Nichols and Buddy Nichols; his parents, Homer Nichols and Mary Catherine Nichols; his stepson Robin Carroll; and his sister Martha Bower.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Oakes (James), Terry Nichols (Belinda), Becky Heichelbech (Tom), Cathy Ellis (Jerry), Vicki Carroll and Kim Jones (Randall).
