He is survived by: his wife Carol; his son James Richard Stephenson II (Katie); his grandchildren, James Stephenson, Lorelei Stephenson and Samuel Stephenson; his stepchildren, Eric Parks (Sarah), Rachel Parks (Morgan), Kurt Parks, Paige Parks, Alexander Parks and Phillip Parks; his niece Sydney King (Leron); his great-niece Jewlyett King; and his pets, Liberty Belle and Independence Hall.
