He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley DeWeese (Bowman); and his half-sister Cheri Sullivan. He is survived by: his father Richard Elvin DeWeese, Sr. of Eminence; his sister Julie Thomas of Campbellsburg; his children, Richard DeWeese, III of Eminence and Jazzy DeWeese of Eminence; and his uncles, John Bowman (Laura) of Louisville and Gary Bowman (Julie) of Louisville.
